So I was requested to make a superhero cape and I thought “no big deal, I can do this in no time” right? Wrong! Lol. I think it took me about three different tries before I finally figured it out. And you know what, the first fault was in my original choice of fabric. When you think of superheros’ costumes you think of the shiny fabric, right? So that’s what I went for. But oh no, you can’t just pick out just any old shiny fabric and expect to sew everything all easily! I learned the hard way that I’m just not quite ready to use shiny polyesters. It kept fraying and slipping and ugh what a nightmare. Anyways, I finally gave in and decided to go with an easy broadcloth material which I was way more comfortable with sewing.
And here’s the finished product! I hemmed all the side seams leaving a casing for the tie at the top. Rolled the edges over on the logos and top-stitched. I am really happy with the way it turned out! 😀
